Free health and fitness day: Saturday April 28



Sometimes, learning about health for you and your family can seem daunting. This Saturday, you can spend the afternoon snacking on healthy foods and exploring fun activities for you and your kids – all while learning about better, healthier ways to live.


From dentistry to asthma management, this action-packed afternoon makes health information fun, free, interactive and easy. Here’s a quick preview of what you’ll find:


  • Get Information on blood pressure, cardiac care, asthma, diabetes, nutrition and healthy eating, young men’s and women’s health, HIV and mental health
  • Have fun with Zumba and Yoga/Pilates demos, face painting, indoor moon bounce and games for kids including a hoop-a-thon (basketball and hula hoops)
  • Relax with back, head and hand massages
  • Sign up for an asthma basics workshop
  • Get material to help find and identify a lost or missing child with the MY CHIP Child ID Program
  • Participate in a bone marrow drive to help increase the pool of donors
  • Investigate insurance options with Neighborhood Health Plan
  • Enjoy healthy snacks and cooking demonstrations
  • Win prizes including bikes, sports equipment, and gift certificates
  • Get free giveaways including bike helmets, pedometers, and toothbrushes
