“An apple a day keeps the doctors away…”

This famed phrase has been told for decades. But can eating an apple a day really keep the doctors away?

Research from Florida State University found that women who at an apple every day lowered their levels of LDL (“bad” cholesterol) by 23% in 6 months.

Pectin, a fiber found in the flesh and peel of an apple, works with the antioxidant quercetin to make the heart stronger and healthier.

Researchers suggest eating two apples a day for the best heart-healthy results.
