It’s easy to get bored with an exercise routine. But it’s important to stay active. Exercise can help fend off heart disease, which is the top cause of death in the United States according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Here are some tips from the American Heart Association to help you stay motivated in your exercise routine and prevent exercise burn-out.

  • Pick exercise activities that are fun
  • Listen to music while you exercise
  • Exercise with other people
  • Add variety to your routine- do different types of exercise to keep things interesting
  • Have a good support system of family and friends to encourage you
  • Keep a journal of your activities
  • Know your limits – don’t try to do too much at once
  • Reward yourself for a job well done!
