Sun Safety Week

Posted on June 7, 2010

The week of June 6 through 12 is Sun Safety Week. Here are some tips from the Sun Safety Alliance to protect you from the sun. These tips can be used year-round, but are especially relevant with summer beginning.

  • Use a sunscreen that has an SPF of 15 or higher (30 or higher for children) whenever you are outside
  • Use sunscreens that protect against both UVA and UVB rays
  • Reapply sunscreen often, especially after swimming
  • Remember that the sun is strongest between 10am and 4pm
  • Wear brimmed hats and sunglasses in the sun
  • Do not use tanning beds
