Remembering Things…

It can be difficult to remember everything you have to do and every appointment you have coming up. Sometimes we forget the things on our “to do lists.” Here are some tips found in HealthDay News from the U.S. National Library of Medicine about how to improve your memory.

  • Keep your brain active by reading frequently, playing games and doing crossword puzzles.
  • Try not to get stressed if you cannot remember something immediately. Take a deep breath and try to think of it or let it come to you.
  • Limit your alcohol consumption.
  • When you are trying to remember something, repeat it out loud.
  • Associate names and faces.
  • If someone introduces you to someone else, you can remember the new person by association with the other person.

Ask your doctor if any of the medications you take could be impairing your memory.
